I have found that the most effective way to learn is to teach, and the most effective way to teach is to learn.

I am a native English speaker from Southeast Michigan. I also speak German as a second language. I am a very goal-oriented ESL instructor and success coach, have exceptional interpersonal skills and years of success coaching, teaching, and curriculum development experience. I am a mom and have taught ESL to children, adolescents, and adults in community class, K-12, and higher education learning environments. In my free time, I like to spend time in nature and with my family. I am passionate about helping aspiring college level students and moms in my community reach their learning and life goals. I always take the time to get to know each student I work with as an individual and whole person. I try to make connections between students' language goals, personal interests, cultural backgrounds, beliefs, values, and experiences. I prefer to refer to myself as a language coach, rather than teacher because I believe that the word teacher implies one person is somehow more or less responsible for the learning outcomes. As your language coach, I will be on your team, supporting and guiding you toward reaching your language goals. In my experience as a teacher, student, mom, and individual, I have found  that the most effective way to learn is to teach, and the most effective way to teach is to learn. Read my blog to learn more about my experiences and perspectives that guide my teaching principles and influence the way I interact with students!
